There are several community and house groups based at HT. Of these, most are central to Wester Hailes but there are also groups in the north, south and west of the city. Each group has its own character, though all are based on the aim of growing as a flourishing missional community. Group meetings can incorporate prayer, worship and Bible study but are not intended just to be a mini version of what takes place in Sunday services.
The challenge of forming a missional community involves building each
other up within the group as fellowship bonds strengthen alongside seeking opportunities to reach out to and serve those outsides of the group. In theory, when one does something, we all do that same thing. So, when one is in hospital, we’re all in hospital. When one gets married, we all get married etc…. (Romans 12: 4 – 18).
