At Holy Trinity we recognise that the Lord cares for us like a Shepherd, and he has gifted many people within the Church to offer pastoral help in time of need. There are many times in our lives where we need extra help. Don’t suffer alone, ask for help. There are various ways in which you can access this.
Join our Sunday Services
If you can come to church on a Sunday, even if it’s a struggle, then do so! Don’t be become isolated. It is amazing how being with God’s people, listening to his Word and praising his Name can help us. At the end of services there is also the opportunity to receive Prayer and a listening ear from trained volunteers, elders and the ministry team.
Become part of a Home Group
These smaller gatherings give us the opportunity to get to know one another and be known, to find healing and encouragement as we go through life together.
Speak to the Ministry Team
The Minister and Ministry Team are always willing to speak with anyone who wishes to speak about a pastoral issue. Anyone who needs to talk through something can request a phone call or visit and you are warmly encouraged to make such a request either at one of our services or through the office. Please do not assume that the Ministry Team know about your situation, they will not know unless you tell them!
If you want to speak about a need another person may have, please ensure you check with them first to ensure it is ok to do so. Please respect their privacy. They may not wish others to know or visit, even if you feel the Ministry Team should be involved.
Christian Counselling
Sometimes life can be difficult and there does not seem to be a way through. The Bridge Counselling Service at Holy Trinity offers a professional, safe and confidential space to talk through, with a trained Counsellor, the difficulties, traumas and problems that you may be experiencing. Referrals can be made through the ministry team or through the direct access number.
Funerals
The Rev. Ian MacDonald and the Rev. Rita Welsh are able to conduct a Christian funeral or burial for anyone who resides within the parish of Wester Hailes. There is no charge for this and is offered as a service to our community when faced with bereavement.
Weddings
If you reside within the parish of Wester Hailes and are looking to make your wedding vows before God in the Church, contact the minister Rev. Ian MacDonald for more information.
